Mercy Tarus and Uasin Gishu Finland scholarships scam: Political reason why justice will NOT be forthcoming easily

The emergence of Jackson Mandago's name as one of the possible persons of interest in the Finland Scholarship scam (after all he was governor when the scheme was launched) is bound to raise political temperatures considerably at a time when the Ruto administration is so shaky and under so much pressure.

Mandago finds himself in a vulnerable position due to his love-hate relationship with Ruto in the past opening the possibility of the president succumbing to pressure and throwing him under the bus.

And as the ongoing demonstrations in Uasin Gishu have clearly shown, there is clearly some kind of "protection from prosecution" from the government and its' agencies, otherwise arrests would have already been made by now, after all the public outcry.

It is instructive that in the past, crafty Mandago has fallen back on his populous Nandi community for "protection". (Ruto's biological father is Kipsigis the most populous Kalenjin tribe followed by the Nandis, but his mother is Nandi.)

In 2017 Ruto sponsored Buzeki (derived from his full name – Bundotich Zedekiah Kiprop) to challenge Mandago and dethrone him from the governorship. Mandago responded by warming up to Raila Odinga and ODM. Indeed ODM ended up strangely supporting his re-election bid and at a time when tensions between Mandago's Jubilee and Raila's NASA coalition (which included the ODM party) were at an all-time high.

Fearing that he would be rigged out, Mandago did not stop there and in a coded message to the Jubilee party high command, shortly before polling day, told Ruto that he would convince the entire Nandi community to vote for Raila instead of Uhuru/Ruto if they noticed that the initial votes cast on polling day were going against Mandago. It worked and the then governor won re-election.

This tells us that Mandago is a fighter and will not give in easily in any battle. This sets the stage for a battle royale even before the issue of justice for the parents who lost their money in the Finland scam is confronted. Simply put, if Mandago wins once again, it is unlikely that any justice will be dispensed.

Locals in Uasin Gishu are keenly away of all this dynamics and it has raised suspicions and intensified scrutiny on Mandago's possible involvement in the scandal. And at a time when the public is increasingly demanding transparency and accountability from all their leaders, especially when it comes to matters as crucial as education and its' funding.

Mandago's influence within the populous Nandi community adds another layer of complexity to this brewing storm. Ruto would have to carefully consider the potential consequences before making any decisions that could jeopardize his standing with this influential Kalenjin group.

It is also evident that Mandago's political aspirations and strong support base make it challenging for Ruto to simply dismiss or undermine him.

The Uasin Gishu parents deserve answers, justice, and assurance that their children's educational opportunities are not being compromised by corrupt practices. It is high time for those responsible for this scandal be held accountable for their actions, whoever they are and whatever the political consequences may be.

Governor Mandago collected ATM cards from people and transacted: Mercy Tarus exposes Ruto governor | Kenya news

The drama currently unfolding in Uasin Gishu county, William Ruto's home county is shaping up to be yet another case of corruption and lack of accountability. Only this time it has met with the stubborn resolve of locals led by a 24 year old Mercy Tarus. Funds were collected from the trusting public and even sensitive ATM cards handed over in good faith amid countless rosy promises but now leaders are changing the narrative and being economical with the truth. 24 year old Mercy Tarus has become an internet sensation and the face of the people fighting to expose the scandalous actions of Uasin Gishu governor involved in the Finland scholarship scam. It is very disheartening to see that it has become common for leaders in Kenya to collect public funds without any intention of being held accountable. What does this latest development mean for the country, and the Ruto regime politically going forward? Even as daily demonstrations continue in Eldoret, the capital of Uasin Gishu county?

Japhet Koome Crazy talk The inside story reveals the secret | Kenya news

The recent remarks made by Police IG Japheth Koome are not only unfortunate but also highly insensitive. The remarks echo exactly what a Ruto or UDA sycophant would say but in this instance coming from the top police boss in the country it is devastating. Mercifully it confirms a few very shocking political developments in the country (so at least the outburst has given us information) which we will come back to shortly. If only Mr Koome would take a few minutes to remember what has befallen his predecessors who have taken the same path, he would have quickly changed his approach. It is deeply concerning when the top cop of a country would takes sides in the political divide, as it undermines the impartiality and professionalism expected from law enforcement agencies. Kenyans have every right to feel unsafe when their police boss disseminates information that is widely known to be false for political reasons. Even Koome himself knows that what he told the press is lies and propaganda. This not only erodes trust in the police force but also raises questions about their ability to maintain law and order without bias. In a country where security concerns are prevalent, it is disheartening to witness such behavior from a person in such a high-ranking position. The role of the Police IG should be focused on maintaining peace, ensuring public safety, and upholding the rule of law, rather than engaging in partisan politics. These remarks highlight a serious problem within the leadership of law enforcement agencies. But coming at this point in time it tells us that Kenya is in much more serious trouble than anybody has imagined so far.

Recent major political events in Kenya would seem confusing to those who want to stick to official narratives. More so those coming out of a government that is well known for propaganda narratives. The truth is that it is highly unlikely that Karim Khan, the ICC chief prosecutor, would come to Kenya for no reason. As the head of the International Criminal Court's prosecution office, his visits to countries are usually driven by specific purposes and objectives.

It is worth examining the circumstances surrounding Uhuru Kenyatta and his family's decision to leave Kenya for a holiday. And the very disturbing timing for this development. Coincidences can occur, but it is important to consider the context and any potential connections.

Even as some Kenyans are highly expectant of a handshake or agreement of some sort coming out of the ongoing talks between Raila and Ruto teams to end political tensions in the country, the emerging realities on the ground tell us a very different story. And they tell us clearly the bad news; we should not expect much to come out of the talks. Both history and the characters of the main players dissuades any serious observer or analyst looking at this any other way.

Even as dark clouds hang over the nation of Kenya spiritually, some Kenyans have a very bad feeling about this August 2023. And they are convinced that something very big is coming. And it could quite possibly be linked to the dramatic events that have unfolded in the country over the last two months or so. Since Kenya attained her independence and even before, the month of August seems to have a streak of bad luck for politicians in Kenya. Disasters too have happened in Kenya in August. Game-changing major events have also unfolded in this same dreaded month.

ICC Chief Prosecutor Karim Khan makes the blunder of his life trying to visit Kenya secretly for a meeting and belatedly recuses himself from Kenyan cases

The Karim Khan fiasco has to be amongst the most dramatic developments in Kenya politics in recent times. How so? Karim Khan, the ICC chief prosecutor, recently experienced an embarrassing visit to Kenya and chances are that this happened simply because he was expecting to go unnoticed and unrecognized. If that indeed is the case, then his plan went horribly wrong. How did he and those who really invited him think that the face that defended an accused person at the ICC who is now the president would never be recognized in Kenya? But apart from handing Azimio a very unexpected "gift" for their cause, this visit highlights a significant flaw in Karim Khan's judgment and raises questions about his ability to impartially carry out his duties as the ICC chief prosecutor. How can we trust someone who suspiciously and in a private capacity visits a country where a person accused of serious crimes that he once defended is now president? It is more than concerning that someone in such a high-profile position would make such a misjudgment. This incident also raises concerns about the integrity and credibility of the ICC itself. How can we have faith in an institution that appoints individuals with questionable backgrounds to key positions? The ICC should be held to the highest standards, and incidents like this only serve to undermine its reputation. Overall, Karim Khan's embarrassing visit to Kenya serves as a reminder that individuals in positions of power must be held accountable for every little action, even in private if it has relevancy to their work. It also highlights the need for transparency and integrity within international institutions like the ICC. The Kumekucha video above lays bare the consequences we should expect going forward on the local political scene that will without doubt not favour William Ruto's regime.

Who is putting pressure on Raila to give Ruto time and maybe to go for a handshake?

Kenya politics has never been this eventful and perplexing too. Although it is also clear that President Ruto has a plan. One that will favour his side whilst ignoring the needs of the vast majority of the Kenyan people. Hardly surprising when the majority did not vote for him. And a clear sign of that plan is the hearty meal of rice and beef that was served at the Sagana State lodge over the weekend to Mt Kenya residents attending a "cleansing" prayer service and political rally at that historic venue.
It is essentially a question of the underlying intentions and potential consequences of such actions. The incident serves as a reminder that politicians should be held accountable for their actions and that communities should not be used as pawns in political games. It came out clearly for the first time that when you discuss Mt Kenya politics you are talking about real people with real stories to tell and a reality that they are currently facing, even as you analyze their politics.

Naturally, spiritual folks will be quick to say that it all has to do with the season that Kenya has entered and the judgement to all that must unfold. And this judgement, for those who are interested, is ultimately going to affect ALL Kenyans and all communities.

What scared Ruto and Raila into talks that both sides don't want?

It is evident that those aligned with Ruto and Raila are openly expressing their lack of interest in the ongoing negotiations. Their actions and statements make it abundantly clear that they have little faith in the peace talks and do not anticipate any significant outcomes from them.

It is also clear that President Ruto has a plan.
And so the very disturbing questions are as follows. Did somebody whom both sides fear force them to the negotiation table? And if so, what is the end-game and objective here? And the most important question of all; what is most likely going to happen next, in this dreaded month of August?

Actually the country is about to plunge into a much more serious crisis and sadly by then it may be too late to hurriedly put together serious talks. Get the full picture by taking in: Raila Odinga And Azimio scared of dark force scaring and slowing them down | Kenya news

Former President Uhuru Kenyatta was much more revealing at his recent interview with editors in Kenya. Indeed he revealed much more than what most Kenyans captured from the surface of it. Including the identity of the man who has ordered police brutality and violence against unarmed and innocent Kenyans.

As long as some people (many times with the help of foreign agents) will want to fiddle with presidential election tallying results, the post of chairman of the electoral body will remain the most deadly public office in the country called Kenya and maybe even on the entire African continent.

Wafulu Chebukati: immediate former IEBC chairman who announced very strange presidential results in August 2022

As we have seen in past elections the chairman of elections in Kenya will always end up in a situation where they are confronted by public wrath or even worse a situation where because they know too much about how the election was fiddled with, somebody decides to get rid of them thus eliminating a potential loose end that could lead to exposure.

But even in the one case (2002) where the real presidential elections have been announced, the role of electoral chairman in Kenya has still proved to be a demanding and high-pressure position. Crisis-management skills and quick thinking are obviously key requirements

History shows us that after overseeing bungled elections, many of these chairmen find it impossible to move on successfully to other endeavors. One significant factor contributing to this challenge is the toll that the position seems to take on their health and even psychological well being.

One notable example is Samuel Kivuitu, who served as the chairman of the electoral body (then the ECK) during the controversial 2007 elections. After his term ended, Kivuitu's health deteriorated significantly and very rapidly. He passed away as a pale shadow of his former self.

But even more telling was the fact that the death of Kivuitu on 25th February 2013, just a week before the 2013 general elections raised eyebrows and sparked suspicion among many. Kivuitu's sudden demise came after a period of significant weight loss and reports of him suffering from multiple illnesses.

In a country where superstitions often intertwine with politics, some Kenyans couldn't help but link Kivuitu's deteriorating health to his decisions during the 2007 elections, which were marred by violence and resulted in numerous deaths. The timing of his death so close to another crucial election only added fuel to the fire of speculation. There are those who argued that he may have been bumped off because he was known to be outspoken and may have said something to attract attention to what those who were rigging that election wanted to do.

In retrospect it appears that Kivuitu may have had little choice in his decisions which were forced on him by threats and it is unlikely that he received any monetary reward for his pronouncements. The same cannot be said for others who came after him because their lavish lifestyles after leaving the electoral body may suggest some mischief.

While it is important to approach such claims with skepticism and rely on concrete evidence, it is undeniable that Kivuitu's passing under the circumstances mentioned above raises questions about the potential influence of his past actions on his health and ultimately his untimely demise.

If you ask most Kenyans they will tell you that the post of chairman of the IEBC is a dangerous one that most candidates for the job take too lightly when applying. They never come anywhere near considering the reality of the job in our current political environment. They therefore end up with blood on their hands after going against the will of the people and from then on are doomed to a life of frustration and living under a curse. Which means after chairing the Kenyan electoral body the man or woman will go absolutely nowhere after that until their day of catching their last "flight" out of the world of the living.

Major political events in Kenya would seem confusing to those who want to stick to official narratives.
The mention of ICC prosecutors in Kenya suggests that there may be ongoing or potential investigations or cases related to Kenya within the jurisdiction of the International Criminal Court. Karim Khan's arrival in Kenya could be linked to these matters. It is important to note that ICC prosecutors do not travel randomly or without purpose. Their visits are typically associated with legal proceedings, investigations, or engagements with relevant stakeholders. Therefore, it is reasonable to assume that there is a specific reason behind Karim Khan's visit to Kenya. And then Ruto's decision to spend five days in the Mount Kenya region seems calculated and strategic, but it also reveals a sense of desperation. It is clear that he is trying to drum up support in an area where his popularity has been waning. By attempting to re-ignite anti-Raila sentiments in Mount Kenya, Ruto hopes to solve his mounting political problems. However, this move raises questions about his true intentions and whether he is genuinely interested in addressing the needs and concerns of the people or simply using them as a means to further his own selfish political agenda. It is important to critically analyze Ruto's timing and motives behind this campaign strategy. Is he genuinely invested in the well-being of the people or is he solely focused on securing his own political future? This Kumekucha feature reveals how all these events are linked to an issue that is yet to hit the headlines properly; the Luo Nyanza probe.
