How Rigathi Gachagua Tortured Matiba widow

Surfacing furiously and incessantly are details of Rigathi Gachagua's dark past when he served as an influential District officer in the Moi administration in the 90's at the height of the fight for the second liberation. Among those who have exposed Gachagua's dark past is former political detainee Robert Wafula Buke who studied together with Gachagua in the University of Nairobi in the 1980s. Buke revealed that upon graduation, Gachagua was appointed directly as a District officer courtesy of his close relationship with professor Phillip Mbithi, the former VC of the University of Nairobi who had been appointed by Moi as the head of civil service. It was during Gachagua's time as a District officer that Moi tasked them to collect intelligence and unleash terror on all those groups opposing his administration amid heightened fight for the reintroduction of multi-party politics.
