Former Prime Minister and Presidential candidate, Raila Odinga, has pointed an accusing finger to close allies of Deputy President, William Ruto, over the Friday incident in Uasin Gishu County where his chopper and motor vehicles were attacked by rowdy youths.
Raila says that Governor Jackson Mandago and Soy Member of Parliament, Caleb Kositany, were to blame. Raila says that he has gathered information indicating the rowdy youth had been organized by his political opponents to attack his helicopter.
Raila praised the police who he said were prompt in foiling further damage or harm to the people who were in his team. He further stated that the youth should exercise political tolerance and allow freedom of speech ahead of the August polls.
"In the run-up to August, someone seems to be assembling a ragtag band of extremist youths, radicalized by lies and handouts to zone the country before pushing us into mayhem," Raila said.
Deputy President William Ruto also spoke on the incident, calling for political tolerance.
