Many analysts believe that the final showdown between President Uhuru Kenyatta and Deputy President William Ruto is at our door steps.
What began with bitter attacks after the July 22, 2019 arrest of Cabinet Secretary to the National Treasury Henry Rotich, who was accused of corruption could easily end with yet another arrest, some speculate.
Meanwhile the BBI judgement from the Supreme court is hovering way too close in the horizon. The judgement was being read as I posted this video. Ruto camp has never hidden its distrust for the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI), an outcome of the March 2018 peace pact between the president and Odinga – his long-time opposition foe. The initiative was symbolised by the famous public handshake between the two men – a moment now simply referred to as “The Handshake”.
But the mother of all catalysts has to be the impeachment and Ruto betrayal story revealed by the President's men. Was DP Ruto capable of doing all that he has been accused of? Video footage in this presentation answers that question conclusively.
